Current State:
GST registration is legally required for nearly all marketplace sellers in India (a 2023 notification allows some narrow below-threshold exceptions via ECO enrollment). GSTIN is a nullable field on the Store model, and product.py's _assert_store_can_list_products does block NEW listings without a GSTIN and bank details — but this clearly isn't catching everyone: a direct database query confirms 447 active stores with live products currently have no GSTIN on file today (see the Business Snapshot below).

Confirm with a CA/GST advisor what's actually required, then find and close the gap letting 447 already-active stores sell without a GSTIN on file. Most likely explanation to check first: Shopify-synced sellers bypassing the listing-time check entirely.
